This is the most figure-concentrated, minimal piece I've done in a long while...and I am really liking the way it's looking so far. I love the texture and aesthetic of the varied wash along with the unsure line and small "mistakes." It's not nearly done, though I think the rather unfinished look will stay with the piece throughout. I'd like to add a bit more detail across the board...but in a symbolic way, not further defining the person or space around them...it's a contemplative piece...and so, I suppose, the coincidental similarities to "the thinker" and it being Rodin's birthday only add to the intrigue of the bold and simple image...
