Eisenhower Son Calls for New Direction to Memorial

Yesterday I linked you to an article which revealed that new decisions to move forward on the much-debated Eisenhower Memorial would be delayed until 2013...Now reports say that the family has released a statement calling for a "new direction" to be pursued for the project. The family has been critical of Gehry's design from the get-go, saying that the memorial did not accurately represent the President or his personality while Gehry has produced slight alterations to the original design, none which address the main complaints from the family.

The new statement says that the family is interested in exploring the idea of a "square" or park over the "too extravagant, off-base" memorial, adding that they do not believe the commission is serious about re-examining the initial design...Take a look.
