One of the main arguments for increasing mass transit is its benefit to the environment. If 25 people each step out of their cars and onto one vehicle, the emissions go down. It makes sense...at least when that's actually how it goes. Many studies, however, show that that usually isn't the case. In fact, many studies find that most large mass transit vehicles are mostly empty most of the time. Do large mass transit vehicles really provide the greener solution that we all think they do or are cars getting an unfairly bad rap?
