Skydiver Breaks Record, Sound Barrier

Felix Baumgartner jumped from a capsule at 24 miles up, breaking the record for the highest jump and also becoming the first human to break the sound barrier in freefall. The project, on top of simply being interesting and impressive, is hoping to gain information about possible high altitude escape as space travel (potentially) becomes more regular and safety becomes a question.  Take a look.
