Some thoughts on the piece when it was finished...
As with most of my work, I try to connect everything through the human experience either through using old subjects or being inspired by universal ideas. "Bison" are something that seem to have come up a few times over the last year. I think both the simplicity of the form and the iconic status in both environmental and spiritual senses draws me to them...and I believe, at least in the few tries I've given, they help to create some very powerful, personal pieces that have a timeless quality in both their meaning and application.
