I think the headline says it all but in case you need more...recently it was uncovered that the Milwaukee Police Department spent over $70,000 on designer chairs from Herman Miller. Not that police don't need chairs, but at 450$ a piece, defined as a steal by a dept. spokesperson, you could have paid for more than a month's rent at my spacious east-side apartment, gotten 50 months of netflix service, or provided a needy school with however many pieces of chalk $450 gets you (I;m guessing it's a lot of chalk.)
Again, not that police don't need chairs...but in a time where we are complaining about drastic budget cuts, delaying flights, laying off workers, forcing police to take furlough days, and pleading that we all "pay our fair share" I find it reprehensible that they couldn't have gone for something more like the $60 computer chair I got off Amazon...which is a year old and doing fine, thank you...
