You may not know, you may not believe, you may not WANT to believe, but Greek statues were not always the pristine-white picture-of-perfection that we have become so accustomed to. Not only were they simply not the white of the stone, they were painted...garishly. Take a look, if you don't mind having your perception of history turned around a bit...
