Mental Health and Violence.

After the Sandy Hook tragedy most people immediately called for raising restrictions on gun violence and the less-popular debate about mental health fell by the wayside. Nothing ended up getting passed gun-wise and the mental health debate barely clawed it's way into the news...

Now, reports are coming out that a recently arrested suspect in a triple murder was actually reported to the state by his parents as "delusional and possibly dangerous"yet was released after he did not meet the state's criteria. Even more, the same man was arrested three days prior to the murders for threatening some workers at an animal shelter...

The debate of gun control v. mental health...

I'm not saying that this could or should have been prevented...I don't know the rules...but I think it's extremely sad that our country went so actively against gun-control while barely ever talking about mental health in a national setting.

The people are the ones that drive these tragic acts and as long as there are those that are delusional, depressed, alone, and untreated, we'll have the possibility for other attacks to happen, with or without gun restriction.
