Despite a report that Wisconsin is missing out on the job gains seen by the rest of the country recently (http://www.jsonline.com/business/us-adding-jobs-while-state-loses-ll4c8qp-141333083.html), and for reasons no one seems to agree on (read WHOLE article), This next article seems to say that neither side really has anything figured out.
One side shows that many cities have been level, or actually saved money with the reforms. Opponents say that they are giving money to outside corporations, hurting local schools and governments. Some schools report saving money and jobs due to the cuts, while some districts with rules barring the bargaining cuts ended up firing hundreds of teachers due to the huge cuts in state aid.
Basically, it's hard to tell. The jobs aren't really coming in as the governor had promised, but many districts seem to have actually saved money instead of creating debt...and others seem to be struggling...So, while you may be cheering that Walker's not proving his case, or contrastingly cheering that the cuts have actually helped in many counties, unfortunately for Wisconsin, this means we're due for many months more arguing, criticizing, and fighting.
