Getting to Space with Magnets.

Since the first time we broke into low Earth orbit by propulsion technology, scientists have been looking for a new way to get there. Propulsion has worked for over 40 or 50 years...but it's really just not a great way to get to space. It's extremely expensive, extremely complicated, extremely dangerous...and with these altogether, extremely impractical if we ever expect space travel to be anything other than a specialized, unique scientific endeavor. For the future of space travel to be anything more than a joy ride for the uber-wealthy or a massively funded national program, we're gonna have to get more real than a $100,000 per kilo price tag...

Enter magnetic levitation trains...
