For both of these, I tried to keep my hand, as the artist, as far from the piece as possible. I wanted the texture of the surface and medium to really shine through. The first was created by dabbing a drying painting with the canvas, then dripping large blobs of red on that canvas. The second was made by painting the wood with water, letting it sit for a bit, and then dripping the paint in smaller striped vertically across the board. Each has a very natural, yet unique look to them, and each, in its own way, stands out and connects with some of the work I've been doing. A good exercise in trying something new...
