What a bad picture for a piece that i actually turned out liking. It was one of those works that looked pretty poor till the last 45 minutes of work....it's not done (and I promise, this image is not good) but I do like where it's heading.
The idea, right now, is based around the "we are all beautiful butterflies" line, but instead of depicting beauty, I'd like to represent the desires and needs of real life. A little bit more of the realities of life. Right now, the beauty is lost...the butterfly is a barely visible outline behind scratches of pastel that depict the realities of life...will the piece go one to show that these things mask you from the beauty of life or will these dark objects work to exhibit the persistence of optimism, even in the face of hardship?
