Fact Checking the Debate

I'm working on linking a video of the debate for those who didn't see it, but reports, so far, say that it was a bad outing for the incumbent. More on that later, but take a minute to fact check some of the claims made by the candidates last night...

I think it's good that journalists are fact checking the debate and everything around it, but I also see it as a sad sign of the times that we need this kind of thing. One of these guys is going to run the country and we can't trust them enough to be honest when speaking with the entire nation.

There was a lead story yesterday that was pre-emptively attempting to fact check the debate, calling out misleading stats and talking points of the candidates that have been said countless time by each group...It's really sad that we know these people will mislead or lie, have documentation of them doing so, yet we either only call out the opposing side, or ignore it all together.

It's great we have people sifting through the debate for the truths and lies, somewhat holding each man accountable...but it's depressing that we need to do it at all.
