Counsel on Culture?

Does Milwaukee need a counsel on culture?

I think there are a lot of artists in this town that would do more with less and make it much more personal to the city and area....that said It's also the area artists (me included) responsibility to make that apparent and if the officials of the city are going to this guy, then he obviously did a better job "selling" his idea. I definitely think we could do better, but then us artists shouldn't expect the city to hand us projects simply because we are here and capable, we need to go get them, like this guy did.

I am completely sure there are a number of artists in this town that could do better...but they didn't. If we want the city to invest in us, let's prove to them that we deserve it and not some other guy. If the local scene is as strong as we say we shouldn't need to defend ourselves so often. Until then, we should probably stop worrying about what someone else has accomplished, start focusing on why the local scene is so overlooked and work to make it apparent that we deserve the attention we constantly seem to miss.
