We Faint At The First Sign of Life
This is my most recent, and largest, piece. Based on the ethnic killings in Burma, We Faint At The First Sign of Life is a commentary on the commonplace attitude our world has come to have for tragedies such as this. More often are we surprised by stories of hope and survival than the atrocities which blanket our news sites. Too often do we see an "attack" headline and don't even feel for the victims. Senseless acts of violence are ignored or expected and scrolled over while "what celebrity got a boob job" get's read by millions. This piece is meant to draw you in with its color and complexity, and simultaneously repel you with the gruesome reality emblazoned before you.
We Faint At The First Sign of Life shows you the terrible situation facing thousands every day and asks you not to accept these as simple facts of life or the way the world works. They are tragedies...and constant tragedy shouldn't reduce our outrage over it.
