A Map For Sailing (In Case We Lose Our Way). Unfinished with Details

Here is a piece based on mapping, ancient maps of the earth and sky, and the interaction between reality and myth that used to inform the map users. While the piece still has quite a long way to go, the large "objects" stand as the ending or starting points with the lines in between showing the route or direction. I hope to continue adding layers and layers of detail, including many "creatures" lurking around the pathways and tracks, notes on routes, and real-to-history names and warnings...

I want this piece to represent a voyage...and whether or not it's actually taken, I want to give the viewers every opportunity to follow along and experience it for themselves. Whether a book is fact or fiction, it still takes you on a ride...and I think a painting should do the same...
