Vatican Criticizes Nuns, Supporters Show Up In Droves.

I think this sentence pretty much sums up the sentiment coming from the side of the nuns, and I really think that this is the biggest disconnect between so many people and organized religion.

So much of the public face of religion has become dedicated to rules and regulation that the actual "be a good person" part seems to have fallen to the wayside. I dunno about you, but I'd rather surround myself with genuinely good people who've never stepped foot inside any church than people who blindly follow every age-old rule and regulation, but fail as a decent human being.
