There was a time in art history where people thought painting was on the way out. That it had run its course, gotten where it was, and didn't have much left in the tank. It was dead. Abstraction had taken hold, conceptual work was becoming more of an interest, and frankly, people just couldn't see the next step to take in the age-old medium.
Well luckily for me, that didn't happen. While other art-forms have risen and gained attention and acceptance, painting has stood its ground as one of the most popular forms of art, as well as remaining one of it's most respected.
