Give Them Great Meals of Beef
This is a smaller piece, about 12x12 inches. I got the idea last night looking through a "pictorial websters" (a dictionary with only picture and brief titles that accompany them). The book is odd...it's a dictionary with no definition, displaying only a picture and a brief title. It creates a notebook of sorts, totally random in it's subject matter, and enchanting in it's randomness and curiosity. The title of this piece, Give Them Great Meals of Beef, was the title accompanying a drawing of a very square cow, labeled as if it was a diagram for a butcher. It was a strange pairing. A relaxed and normal cow with such a forward and optimistic sounding sentence. It was like the sentence was encouraging the cow "yes you are going to be slaughtered, but it's part of a greater purpose. Go now, and give them great meals of beef."
