American Firework
This is American Firework, the second piece I made last night. It's made from the left overs of the coffin sculpture and I think that adds to it. There's not some deeper meaning...no commentary on capitalism or government...it was more the desire to make something with the things I had around me. I grabbed three remaining 1x4's from the coffin supplies and stuck them together to form the surface, and then just used a stick and some semi-dried house paint to create a bit of a base. The imagery is meant to evoke the blasts and pops of fire-crackers and the unrefined nature of the construction is simply a symbol of the weather and wear of work.
