They Walked The Land and Burned The Fields

This is the second "tribute" i made after my chicago visit and it's a bit more narrative-based than The Greatest.

The horned figures represent revolution or a change in philosophy. In my case, they are the artists. The piece may seem negative, frightening or somewhat evil with the title and the imagery...but I suppose that's the idea. When these revolutionary figures came upon the art world, it was a dramatic shift in visual language. It was hard to understand, it was strange...it was uncomfortable and maybe even frightening to the world. But, much like a controlled burn of a prairie, destruction brings new life and rejuvenation. While the initial shifts were attacked and disliked, eventually it came to be the exciting, the new way of working, a new lease on art.

They Walked The Land and Burned The Fields is not the sign of an ending, but a new beginning.
