Making MKE Pt. 4
After a few good hours of work yesterday and last night, you can finally start to see the inklings of a final product.
Some of the buildings are beginning to emerge from the energetic background...the sky is moving and flowing...The colors are starting to work together a bit...Definitely still a lot of work to be done, but I think this is the first look at the piece that really points to a final destination.
While I love what the internet and blogs can do for getting your artwork out into the world, scale is always something I struggle with. My work, including the MKE piece, tends to be fairly large-scale, usually stretching at least 36x48"...and though better displays and larger screen have become more widespread, looking at a piece that spans 5-7 feet on 1.5ft monitor will never compare to standing in front of the real thing.
Get a better, more in-depth look at the piece with some near-actual-size close-ups so you can see all the details, textures, and mark-making...
