Do Oarfish Signal Earthquake?

With the emergence of two rare deep-sea Oarfish carcasses washing up on the East Coast, one of which was called "once in a life-time"just a week before the second was found, myths, such as earthquake prediction, have begun to spring up across the web. Is there a real connection, are the rare animals giving us a warning, or can the East Coast sleep comfortably?
