As many people that know me are well aware of...I paint a lot. The only negative with that is, since I am not (yet) insanely wealthy, I have to fit all that art stuff into an apartment of equal size to a person that...well...has much less shit in their house. Pair that with the fact that a separate studio doesn't work out for someone as sporadic and random as I, and you get piles and piles of art, piles and piles of supplies, and piles and piles of random crap eventually intended to be used in projects that never really happen.
WELL, my usual solution to this is to have tons of shows all the time and to dump some art to people every once in a while and place stuff around my wonderful city. Im not exactly sentimental when it comes to the large majority of my work, not to say that I don't like it, just that I like it on someone's wall more than in a pile in my bedroom. And so we had a "black friday" of sorts last weekend when I went out with some friends, had some drinks, and ended up standing at the trunk of my car looking at paintings. WHAT A SUCCESS. I love getting people work that they like...So anyways...here's a list of some of the stuff that has been recently offloaded, only to be soon replaced with a completely new set of stuff...HOOORAY ENDLESS ART.
There's definitely some I forgot (there was about 30 paintings back there) but those will just have to be reserved for the "lost paintings" portion of my retrospective (waiting for a response from the guggenheim).
