A former assistant of modern master Jasper Johns has been charged with the theft of 22 unauthorized works and selling them through an unnamed gallery. The work was not authorized for sale by the artist and he apparently never intended for the pieces to be seen outside the studio. The gallery is remaining unnamed as the seller provided false, though very convincing, documentation that the sale would be legal and the work was his. Take a look.
