The Tree.

I picture this as a gigantic sculpture made from the trunk of a massive dead tree. The branches would be roughly cut off and the bark would be worked to create the patchwork mark-making. With collage, carving, paint and a variety of other materials, the piece would represent man's attempt at recreating nature and life in a being that once stood tall and strong on its own.

Through time, the piece would be reclaimed by nature with new plants growing around and on the trunk, eventually covering up the man-made marks and features and, ultimately, achieving the goal of "recreating" life.
