A Discount for Well-Behaved Kids?

We've all been at restaurants with some family that, apparently, doesn't realize everyone else is as annoyed with their kids as they are....and so the kids go unchecked as if let off at a Chuck E Cheese. But what would happen if parents were actually held accountable for their lack of control...or even better, were rewarded for well-mannered kids?

I think this is a really important part to the story, what the parents say helps in these situations...

Finally, King and her husband engage the kids, talking about the people around them, the art that’s on the wall and the music that’s playing.
“Just try to enjoy your kids when you’re out with them and I’ve found that our kids usually respond pretty well to that,” King said.
Unfortunately, many parents, in my experience, seem to take a night out as "a night with the kids but since we are in public we don't have to pay attention"...and I think that's most of the problem. If you want to have a nice night out without the kids...get a sitter. If you want to have a nice night with your kids make them part of the conversation and go somewhere appropriate (and don't forget, you're still responsible for their actions)...If you want to let your kids run wild and still be out with your significant other, go somewhere with a ball pit.
