Excited and proud to be taking part in my third straight year of Open Canvas...Take a look at the link below for more info and check out my previous two results from years past!

And yes, I'll admit they are rather different...but along with my other styles of work, there are many major connectors throughout that define them as "my work"...In the first piece, i concentrated on the brush and the color on a dark black surface, letting the stroke and action dictate the mark...in the second, I concentrated on outline, complexity and a lack of depth and used color more as a highlight, calling out certain objects. One piece focuses more on the media...the second focuses more on symbol and subject.

As an artist, one of my favorite things is to look at past work and see how the process has changed, how that effects the outcome, and how the work remains similar in some regards and vastly different in others...it's a part of understanding how your art is conceived...and Open Canvas provides a fascinating year-by-year look, even If I've only got two under my belt so far...

Hope to see you there Saturday!
