Like most people say, it doesn't bother me...but that's not really the point. I land somewhere in the middle here. It is not necessary to have a naked dick thrust in your face every time you walk out of the door in order to stand for artist's rights and to push boundaries...it also is not a travesty for a gallery to display the male nude.
All that said, i can see why, in the vicinity of a preschool, this would be protested...and I'm sure the gallery thought something like this would happen and it's resulted in a good amount a press. Therefore it as a matter of "if you do something controversial, expect controversy and don't get upset if that controversy is not supportive"...it goes with the territory and it's doing exactly what the gallery hoped: create buzz.
