I always thought that, as an artwork, it was boring...as a bed supposedly used for a week to get over a bad breakup, it's really not that messy...

I like this last quote from Emin...while the piece divided critics, she stands by it saying it "changed people's perceptions of art."
I have to agree with the statement, but probably not the sentiment...
It may have "changed people's perceptions of art"...but was that in a good way? As far as I've experienced, for every person who's world was opened by "My Bed" a thousand other people's perception of contemporary art became "this is bullshit."
