Art in the Home.

Too many people use art in the home as wallpaper enhancers...objects that simply hang from the walls, never get talked about, never mentioned, never noticed for more than a few seconds...Art in the home should be more like furniture than the accent. More the subject than a side-note.

What do your walls say? Is your art no more talked about than the 8 pairs of un-used jeans in your closet or does it stand proud? Could you replace any piece in your home with any other and not know the difference or does your work actually say something? Could you say why you chose the pieces you have on the wall or are they simply a picture that's taking up space?

Make sure your art does something. Make sure your art has a purpose. Make sure your art reflects something...If you don't talk about your art or care about your art, what's the point of it being there over anything else?

an example from the great collection of Andy Nunemaker.
