It's always exciting to see pieces from a new direction get purchased...as much as my art is important, self-driven, and personal, there's always searching for validation from others. And when it comes to really changing the fundamental elements of your work, it can be a scary thing. I mean, if nothing gets sold, did you make the right choice? Is the work unsuccessful? Did you move backwards?
These two pieces were the kick-starters for my recent switch to scratching and linework, and as I've really come dedicated and interested in all of the different associations, opportunities and possibilities, it was really great to see someone reacting to the work in an engaged and positive way...let's raise our glasses to new ideas, successes, and maybe even a bit for jesus and rabbits...
