This should be a freakin miniseries on this blog...so much coming out after the rediscovery of the importance of the Prado Mona Lisa...
Now it appears that the artist worked on the original Mona Lisa a decade or more longer than previously suspected. Due to similarities in style between rocks featured in the painting and drawings in his notebooks dated around 1516, the official finishing date of 1506 may have to be revised...

I dunno about you, but this has been a pretty crazy series of revelations about the most famous piece of art on the planet, something you'd assume experts already know most everything about. Hooray for new information, accepting new determinations, and a willingness to reassess our understanding of history.
