The Psychology of Ruins.

This is a really interesting article about how we as a species have always been attracted to ruins. From run-down buildings in Detroit, to the crumbling vine-covered steps in Central America, photographers have always been snapping photos of the long-since-abandoned and explorers have always come to investigate.

Is it some human connection to those that once inhabited the space? A fundamental curiosity in world's we don't know? A spiritual connection to what once was? From explorers to photographers, what makes them risk the dangers of decrepit buildings to bring us striking images of forgotten pasts...

Take a read...
