Don't Worry. Dora The Explorer Won't Kill Your Kid.
A recent chemical claim has put the fear of, well, chemicals into the mind of many parents at the start of this school year, thanks to the drumming of a less-than credible scientist and a unique ability to ignore established science...take a look at this article about the "danger" (or lack there of) of phthalates and why a "Dora" backpack won't kill your kid...
Gene Therapy Restores Sense of Smell in Mice
Researchers have found a gene therapy that restores the sense of smell in mice born without it. Big news with a hopeful application to restoring human senses as well as a hope that the technique will work similarly for a number of other disorders. Take a look...

The Competitor in Chief
Check out this interesting article about the President, talking about his desire to succeed in any endeavor. On one hand, it's good. You want someone who seeks the best as your leader, always striving to improve. On the other, I have major problems with someone who thinks they are better than everyone else and makes it known. Anyways, just an interesting inside look at the President.

Study Suggests Organic Foods Not Healthier, Not That It Should Change Your Mind
The question always arises...why go organic?
If you just like it...I get it. There's a level of feel-goodery about the word...
If you're against pesticides...I get that. I don't understand how all that stuff works or what it does to the body. I personally am not that worried, but if you are, I get it...pesticides don't sound good.
If you are for buying local...I get that. It stimulates the local economy and cuts out the big CEO paycheck...and it just feels better.
But what about if you think it's healthier?

And this isn't to say that you shouldn't go organic. DO WHATEVER YOU PLEASE! I guess the main reason i post something like this is, if you're one of those people who likes to talk about your organics, or if you like to convince others to try it...make sure you know if what you are saying is true...don't just say it because you believe it's "better" and don't lie because you think you're doing someone a favor in the long run. Politicians do that...and it sucks...and no one likes it.
